Bishop Eugene Joyner was born to Cornelius and Walene Joyner. He is the eldest of seven children. He was born in Benhill County, Georgia on April 22, 1935. There he attended grade school and worked in the fields with his Father, he was known to be an obedient child. I remember his mother saying that Eugene was a good child and never sassed her. When he became of age, his father encouraged him to leave when he was 17 to pursue a job in the city. The city he chose was Miami. At the age of 19 he moved permanently to Miami with frequent visits to Georgia to see his mother and father.

God did for Eugene what he did for Adam in the Beginning, by guiding him to a small town called Dade City, Florida where he met his lifetime mate, Ethel Washington.

God had a calling on Eugene's life. Eugene gave his life to the Lord at the young age of 24. At that time he attended St. Barnabus Church under the leadership of Bishop E. Rhamings where he also received the filling of the Holy Spirit. Later on He would leave St. Barnabus. He was then lead to Independent Pentecostal Church of God, under the leadership of Elder E.L. Covington.

There he was ordained a Deacon of the Church. His walk with the Lord continued to grow. On April 25, 1976; He was licensed as a Minister at Independent Pentecostal Church of God. On March 22, 1988, he was ordained as an Elder and Assistant Pastor at Independent Pentecostal Church of God. The Bible says all things work together for the Good of those that Love the Lord. Sometimes change needs to occur in order for a Christian to grow.

***Psalm 37:23 says; The Steps of a Good Man are order by the Lord and He delighteth in His Ways.

God called Eugene to a new beginning, to pastor a church. A Mission with a New Beginning was established October 24, 1994. It has been more than a few years now and God has really blessed this Pastor and the Saints of the Church. He always tells us this Biblical phase Philippians 3:13-14 forgetting those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the High calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Bishop Eugene Joyner has been pressing toward that Mark for more than 50 years.  Bishop Joyner and members of A Mission with a New Beginnings are pressing toward that high mark which is in Christ Jesus.
